Admissions for Counseling Certificate Programs

Admission Requirements

The postgraduate certificate program is available to graduate students and postgraduate professionals from the following qualifying professions:

  • Healthcare, including mental health and medical care professions
  • Education (K-12 through higher education)
  • Ministerial professions

You are invited to apply if you’re a graduate student or postgraduate professional from these qualifying professions who is committed to promoting the care of individuals and communities in the midst of unmitigated stress and trauma.

Applicants seeking admission must either be enrolled in or have completed a qualifying graduate degree with a graduate GPA of 3.0 or above. Graduate students accepted into the program will not have the postgraduate certificate conferred until after they have completed the qualifying graduate degree.

How to Apply

  1. Apply Online

    Create an account with a username and password and complete the Graduate School of Counseling online application. It's free to apply.

  2. Request Official Electronic Transcripts

    Request an official transcript from the regionally accredited college or university where you completed or are completing your graduate degree. Electronic transcripts are preferred for speed and accuracy. They must be sent directly from the institution to admissions@georgefox.edu. If an electronic option is not available, unopened official transcripts can be sent via mail to:

  3. Submit Two References

    Submit two professional references. These will be included in the online application system.

  4. International Students

Once Your Application is Complete

Applications for the upcoming semester will be reviewed after the application deadline has passed. You will not need to attend any interviews, as those are only required for applicants for counseling master’s degrees. We aim to provide an admission decision within three to four weeks after the application deadline.

After Acceptance

Upon admission into the certificate program, you will be connected to the program director for advising and registration.
